LAKESIDE PICNIC AREA & PLAYGROUND



Our property is unique in that we offer a beautiful picnic area overlooking Kenai Lake, where you can grill your lunch or roast marshmallows along the lakeside. We also have a playground for the little ones, a basketball goal for the older kids, and a horseshoe pit for the adults. (Basketballs are provided)

FISHING



For all you fishermen, there are Lake Trout, Rainbows and Dolly Varden in Kenai Lake. You can fish right in front of your lakeside cabin or at the lakeside picnic area! The famous Kenai and Russian Rivers are nearby and offer world record King Salmon as well as Sockeye and Coho salmon fishing. (Salmon fishing is dependent on the time of summer you visit.)

BOATING



Bring your boat and cruise around this part of the Kenai Lake to fish, or simply just take in the spectacular views! Boats can be launched at the nearby Primrose state boat launch. Kayaks can be launched from our lakeside picnic area or your lakeside cabin. Pedal boats are furnished for Renfro’s guests.

WILDLIFE



Bird watching is in abundance here at the Retreat. We often see eagles, loons, stellar jays, pine grosbeaks, and magpies, just to name a few. Of course, we have the occasional wandering moose. Bring your binoculars! Right from your yard or elsewhere on the Retreat, you can often view Dall sheep, mountain goats, and bears high up on the surrounding mountains.

HIKING



Hiking on the beautiful nearby trails is perfect for exploring Alaska! Victor Creek Trail is just across the highway from the Retreat, within walking distance. We have put together a binder for all of our guests filled with maps of all the local trails.

SEWARD IS ONLY MINUTES AWAY FROM YOUR CABIN



Saltwater fishing charters, restaurants, shopping, glacier touring, horseback riding and the Alaska SeaLife Center are just some of the activities found only a 20 minute drive away.
